I met a traveller from an antique land
Who said: Two vast and trunkless legs of stone
Stand in the desert. Near them on the sand,
Half sunk, a shatter'd visage lies, whose frown
And wrinkled lip and sneer of cold command
Tell that its sculptor well those passions read
Which yet survive, stamp'd on these lifeless things,
The hand that mock'd them and the heart that fed.
And on the pedestal these words appear:
"My name is Ozymandias, king of kings:
Look on my works, ye Mighty, and despair!"
Nothing beside remains: round the decay
Of that colossal wreck, boundless and bare,
The lone and level sands stretch far away.

나는 옛 나라로부터 온 여행객을 만났다

그는 말하길. 몸체가 없는 엄청나게 큰 두개의 돌로 만든

다리가 사막에 서있다. 그들 가까이. 모래위에는

반쯤 잠겨 손상된 채로 한 얼굴이 누워 있다. 

그의 찡그린 표정

그리고 주름진 입술. 그리고 차갑게 억누르는 냉소는

이러한 감정을 조각가가 잘 읽고 있었음을 말해준다

그것들은 아직 살아남아, 이들 생명없는 것들에 각인돼 있다

그것들은 흉내내어 놀리던 손, 그리고 그것들을 양육하던 가슴

그리고 받침대에는 이렇게 씌여았었다

내이름은 오지만디아스. 왕중의 왕이다

힘있는 자들이여. 내가 이룬것을 보라 그리고 포기하라

그외에는 아무덧도 남아 있지 않았다. 거대한 폐허가 남긴 쓰레기 주변에는 그저 경계도 없는

외롭고 평평한 모래만이 끝없이 펼쳐져 있다
